Two Periods of Porphyry Cu Mineralization and Metallogenic Implications in the Tuwu–Yandong Belt (NW China), Based on Re–Os Systematics of Molybdenite

The Tuwu–Yandong belt contains five porphyry Cu deposits (Fuxing, Yandong, Tuwu, Linglong, and Chihu), constituting the largest metallogenic in Northwest China. However, framework for remains controversial. Rhenium-osmium dating of molybdenite from Chihu comparisons with previous geochronological data suggest that two episodes (335–330 Ma 323–315 Ma) Cu–Mo mineralization occurred belt, metals were mainly sourced mantle. Moreover, combined geodynamic this compressional environment may be more favorable mineralization, further exploration into Early Carboniferous is expected.
